After-School Achievement Program & Homework Help

Due to COVID-19 and changes in the daily in-person school schedule, the ASAP & Homework Help hours will be adjusted to accommodate the new dismissal procedures for the 2020-2021 school year.
Mission Statement
The goal at UCC is to engage youth in their academic journey and help them to set high goals for their education and future job possibilities. By focusing on the need to complete homework assignments, master the core school subjects, and seek and benefit from after-school tutoring, UCC helps Hispanic youth on Milwaukee's near south side provide themselves with a brighter future. Youth participating in the cultural arts and after-school programs perform better in their academic subjects at school.

Hours & Dates for the Elementary School
The After-School Achievement Program (ASAP) begins the last Tuesday in September and ends on the first Wednesday in June. ASAP is every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3–4 p.m. Students are chosen for ASAP based on teacher recommendations. (The regular school day ends at 4 p.m. for the Middle School.)

Homework Help (HWH)

Homework Help is for students who attend BGCS/BGMS. It gives the elementary students an opportunity to get the extra help they need on their homework from 3–4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The program is available until 5 p.m. ONLY on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for elementary and middle school students. There will be enrichment activities that are tied in with the curriculum during the school day.
